Biography
Marilena Carbone has expertise in designed synthesis and functionalization of nanoparticles and their application to nanobiomedicine and electrochemistry. Other research-lines include the engeneering of metal oxide nanoparticles for water remediation and sanitation, phytosynthesis of nanoparticles and studies of tattoo inks. Graduated in chemistry with honor, received a PhD in Materials Science, gained experience in several labs Europe-wide and currently has a chair of inorganic chemistry at the university of Rome Tor Vergata. She covered the position of guest-editor-in-chief of the Journal of King Saud University – Science, Elsevier, and of the special issue “Environment friendly renewable materials†for Materials - mdpi.
